Emergency call outs
Burst pipe, water through the ceiling, no heating or no hot water? Call us.
Call for an emergency call out
Ring rather than email or book online: it is the quickest way to reach us.
What to do while you wait
A few minutes now can save a lot of damage.
-
Turn off the water
Close the stopcock, usually under the kitchen sink. Turn it clockwise until it stops.
-
Keep away from the electrics
If water is near lights, sockets or the fuse box, turn the electricity off at the fuse box if it is safe to reach, and stay clear.
-
Turn off the heating
Switch off the boiler and the immersion heater, so they do not run without water.
-
Drain the cold taps
Run the cold taps in the bath and sinks to empty the pipes, and catch what is leaking in buckets and towels.
If you smell gas
Do not wait for a plumber. Open the doors and windows, turn off the gas at the meter if you can, do not use light switches, matches or anything that could make a spark, and leave the house. Then call the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999, free, day or night.
