Central heating
From one cold radiator to a full central heating system to suit your house.
Heating that works in every room
Central heating problems tend to show up when the weather turns: a radiator that stays cold, a room that never warms up, pipes that bang and gurgle, or a thermostat that does not seem to make any difference. We find out why and put it right.
We also fit new and replacement radiators, valves and controls, and full central heating systems to suit any house.
- New and replacement radiators
- Radiators cold at the top or the bottom
- Thermostats, valves and heating controls
- Noisy pipes and pumps
- Full central heating systems
Heating questions
Why is my radiator cold at the top?
Usually there is air trapped in it. Bleeding the radiator lets the air out: with the heating off and cool, open the bleed valve at the top corner with a radiator key until water appears, then close it. On a combi boiler, check the pressure gauge afterwards, as bleeding can drop it.
Why is my radiator cold at the bottom?
Often it is sludge: dirt and rust from inside the system settling in the bottom of the radiator. Bleeding will not shift it. The system needs cleaning, and the cause looking at, so call us.
One room never gets warm. What can I do?
Check the radiator valve in that room is open, and that the radiator gets hot all over. If it does and the room is still cold, the radiator may be too small for the room, or the system may need balancing. We can look at both.
